Before You Quote: First Visit vs. Recurring Cleaning

Write down the scope before calculating an internal price. This teaching checklist is not a professional estimate, inspection or legal agreement.

1. Define the service

□ Initial clean, deep clean or recurring visit?
□ Rooms, bathrooms, home condition and pets?
□ Access, parking, travel and appointment duration?
□ Supplies provided by whom?
□ Existing damage, special finishes or safety concerns?

2. Clarify scope boundaries

□ Tasks included in base service
□ Tasks offered as priced add-ons
□ Excluded or specialist work
□ How additional tasks are requested and approved
□ When an inspection/revised estimate is required

3. Estimate complete job costs

□ Expected labor hours × full labor cost
□ Consumables and equipment use
□ Travel distance and vehicle-related costs
□ Allocated admin and overhead
□ Applicable processing fees and other actual costs

4. Review after completion

□ Actual hours and materials
□ Actual travel and allocated overhead
□ Actual contribution vs. planned contribution
□ Why did estimate and reality differ?
□ Update only the assumptions supported by evidence
